Read: Isaiah 35:8-10
Isaiah 35:8-10 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.
No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Simon Peter said to Him, ‘Lord where are You going’ (John 13:36)
Apostle Peter asked our Lord Jesus Christ where He was going. He wanted to be sure of his guess. Jesus knew it was not the right time for Peter to go but him, He told Peter to wait for his own time later.
Where are you going? Is a big question every believer in Christ Jesus must be able to answer. There is a place that all men must go because the world is not the end of our journey. Here is not our destination. Knowing where you are going will help you to choose the safe route to take. Not all routes lead to your destination Pro. 14:12, Pro. 16:25. There is a particular route that leads to heaven which every Christian must tread ….
Jesus said Peter was to join Him later, He is saying the same to all believers. We will join Him later. Are you really ready to take Christ’s route to eternal life? “The high way to holiness” is the way that righteous pilgrim will take home. Only the redeemed will travel God’s highway. They will be protected from wicked travellers and harmful animals. Christ will work with them home.
This should be our joy and confidence that we are not alone in the journey of life. Christ is with us. He promised to be with us till the end of the ages. ‘A highway shall be there, and a road, it shall be called the highway of holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, shall not go astray. No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it: it shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk there. And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away’ Isa. 35:8-10.
Don’t journey home alone neither with the devil for it will lead to eternity in hell. Follow Jesus as He leads.
1. I refuse to wander aimlessly in this world, Father help me to focus on my eternal home.
2. Lord, let Your grace lead me home at the end of my sojourning here on earth.
